Lynette Clemetson is director of Wallace House Center for Journalists at the University of Michigan. Her career spans magazines, newspapers, radio and multiplatform strategy. Prior to leading Wallace House, Lynette was director of content initiatives at NPR. She was a correspondent for The New York Times and for Newsweek magazine, first based in Hong Kong, then in Washington DC. She was founding managing editor of The Root and director of content strategy for Pew Center on the States. Lynette has a passionate interest in press freedom issues. She serves on the board of Forbidden Stories, an international investigative journalism organization dedicated to publishing the work of journalists who have been threatened, jailed or killed. Additionally, she serves on boards and advisory committees of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press; PBS FRONTLINE; and the Student Press Law Center.
